Friday Harbor has t be one of the best places anywhere. The town has a wonderful charm about it. When there you feel the appreciation in the air of the people taking in the island mood. Not just an island mood, but the feel of the northwest. One of the truly enjoyable ways of getting there is
by state ferry. Riding one of the boats makes for an even more exciting day. I have always felt it was a great thing to be on a ferry and watch out the window. Sometimes it's just the fog and water blending and other times the activity of the sea life that makes it special. Of course if you travel via your own boat you know just how fabulous this part of the world is. When on your own vessel you should be aware of the the docks and the rules of the port.
Be sure to explore the island as much as you can. Be sure to look into the great shops in town. There is plenty to bring you back. You may even want to bring out of town visitors here for something they will talk about for a long time.
