Leavenworth, Washington

     Going to Leavenworth is one of those things you hear about people doing for the winter wonderland of Christmas.  Well, that was not the time we went.  It was hot and it was a summer wonderland.  If there is such a term.  Photos of the area show just how beautiful it is in all seasons.  To make

     Our trip was an accident.  What happened was we told visiting family we would lead the way to the highway need to head to the pass to get over the cascades.  Well, we just kept driving.  It turned out the North Cascades Highway was in our minds.  So, off we went.  After a bit on the road we decided to stay the night and enjoyed being tourists in Leavenworth.  Loved it.  Got a had to keep the head from baking in the sun too much.  Wandered around town and simply acted like regular visitors doing some shopping and looking a the unique way this Bavarian city in the Pacific Northwest has made itself a special place in the northwest.
