Long Beach Peninsula

There simply have not been enough trips taken to the North West Place where the town is full the life and the beach is truly long.  Long Beach Peninsula is full of life.  I love the boardwalk

shown in the images at the visitor bureau web site.  What a great experience just to stroll out to the beach.  In the heat of summer or in the winter weather, if you're bundled up and ready for the chill.

Do you think  the name Long Beach is better than Tinkerville?  H.H. Tinker first platted the area in 1881.  As time went on it became a tourist spot for people from Portland, Or.  There was no easy way to get to the beaches of Oregon or Washington so, it was a get away worth having.

Try to imagine how it was in 1922 when the grandson of Mr. Tinker, Gilbert, was the first mayor of Long Beach.  A beach longer than anyone had seen.  Salmon and other seafood so abundant it must have seemed endless.  In many ways it is still the same feeling.

http://kitefestival.com/  will tell you all about the amazing festival with information to watch or participate.  I can just sort of keep a simple kite in the air.  These are amazing to watch.  The official city web site will keep you up to date on news of the town with access to plenty of information.

Indeed, not enough time spent in Long Beach.  There is a place called "Benson's by the Beach" and you should not we Bensons have nothing to do with it.  It is a good name though isn't it.  It is worth looking into some of the place for food here.
